Simulators and Graphics, Computer Aided Design Tools.

Abstract

Two very important tools in the Computer Aided Design-Engineering armory are simulators and interactive graphics computer programs. The Picatinny Management Information Systems Directorate reports regularly to the scientific and engineering community on the status of its application codes. Such a seminar was presented, by the authors, earlier this year at Picatinny Arsenal and the graphics portion was presented at the AMC Symposium on Interactive Graphics for Computer-Aided Design-Engineering hosted by Picatinny Arsenal in June 1973. The report contains the prints of the original slides, each being augmented with the text of the presentations. All of the programs described are working, checked-out, application codes and the personnel in the photographs were intimately involved with the application programs. Picatinny's present computer complex features a host CDC 6500 digital computer supporting a network of remote batch and teletypewriter terminals and a remote CDC 1700/274 Interactive Graphics facility.
