The basic ides of AID-4 is to explain variance of a criterion variable in terms of given predictor variables and their possible simple and complex interactions by a sequential splitting process. The report describes the technical details that are required for the use of the AID-4 program as it is currently operational on an IBM 7040 computer system. (Author)
