Research in Materials Science

Abstract

The report presents the results and status of work after the first six month period of work on this research program which consists of five separate tasks involving research in materials science. The following topics are discussed: Optoelectronic materials and components; superconducting transition metal alloys; chemical synthesis using high temperature lithium vapor species; fatigue and fracture properties of austenitic steels; and, materials characterization using laser light scattering spectroscopy.
