Low Frequency Thermomechanical Spectrometry of Polymeric Materials: Computerized Torsional Braid Experiments. I. Overview. II. Data Processing, and III. Tactic Polymethylmethacrylates.

Abstract

The torsional braid experiment has been interfaced with a centralized Hierarchical Computing System for data acquisition and data processing. Such a system, when matched by the appropriate upgrading of the monitoring techniques, provides high resolution thermomechanical spectra of rigidity and damping, and their derivatives with respect to temperature. Results for some polymethyl methacrylates are included. (Modified author abstract)
