Master Monitor Display Study.

Abstract

The Master Monitor Display (MMD) is an integral display system component of the Advanced Integrated Modular Instrumentation System (AIMIS). The MMD will provide the pilot with warning and caution mode advisory, functional failure, and auxiliary information on a single display surface. The MMD study provided a definition of the operational requirements for an MMD system, identified specific information requirements, and developed a series of information presentation concepts for display of the data to the pilot. Trade-offs of display media potentially available in the 1980 time period were performed. Finally, a series of information processing concepts and mechanization parameters were developed to accommodate MMD system requirements and insure compatibility with the All Applications Digital Computer (AADC) data management concepts.
