Excitation Data on Sodium-Mercury-Nitrogen Plasma.

Abstract

In order to obtain data on the various excitation processes in a Na-Hg-N2 plasma, the population and decay of excited atomic and molecular states in mercury and the collisional transfer of excitation from Hg to Na atoms were investigated experimentally and theoretically. Excited Hg atoms in pure mercury vapor at very low densities and in mixtures with various gases were studied using methods of delayed coincidences. (Modified author abstract)
