Some Properties of a Process Occurring in the Superposition of Two Independent Renewal Processes.

Abstract

Superposition of two point processes has long been a problem of interest in the study of random flow. Early work on the problem occurred in neurophysiology. The authors interest was generated by the study of flow in queueing networks. Cinlar gives an excellent discussion of the problem. In the paper the authors are interested in the basic structure of the interevent process of the superposed stream.
