Propagation in Varying Media.

Abstract

The similarity between propagation in space-varying and in time-varying media is exploited, making recourse to Fourier transformation in the frequency and wavenumber space respectively. The use of a Riccati equation for studying these problems is shown. Application is made to the case of a cold isotropic plasma, with an exponential space or time transition. (Author)
