Numerical Simulation of Turbulence

Abstract

Turbulent flows play a major role in many problems of great practical interest. In the report the authors consider whether the advent of a new generation of computers (Illiac IV, Star, ASC) makes feasible a numerical attack on turbulence by direct integration of the Navier-Stokes equations.
