Countering Protracted Revolutionary Warfare.

Abstract

The essay examines the theory and current practice of meeting the threat of protracted revolutionary warfare. It offers an array of activities involving continual interference in the affairs of a target nation. In the more active phases of insurgency, consideration is given to the idea of democratic revolutionary insurgency as an alternate counter-strategy. Although the important role of the military is acknowledged, the emphasis is on increasing the type of civilian responses. (Modified author abstract)
