A Volunteer Army and the Reserve Components.

Abstract

The purpose of the essay is to evaluate the current efforts by the Department of Defense, under the direction of the President, to achieve an orderly transition to Armed Forces that are manned wholly by volunteers, except during National emergencies. Attention is focused on the effect these actions will have on the Reserve Components. (Modified author abstract)
