Abstract

ITHIUM COMPOUNDS, NiobatesAcoustic surface waves, *Interdigital transducers, Equivalent circuits, Lithium niobatesThe overall objective of this program is to expand the analysis and design of interdigital surface wave transducers. One specific goal is to better define and expand the transducer bandwidth capabilities, contrasting the cases of periodic and non periodic transducers and establishing which is preferable for a given application. A second objective is to combine the desirable features of circuit model analysis and weak coupling analyses so as to accurately describe the performance of both single and double electrodes up to at least the third harmonic, including an improved description of the effects of the electric load. This report describes our accomplishments through October 1973, which include development of broadband, non periodic transducer designs and an evaluation of the crossed-field and in-line circuit models for predicting effects of the electric load.
