Roll Over Protective Structure (ROPS) Design, Analysis and Test for the Military 6000-Lb. Rough Terrain Forklift Truck

Abstract

The report is the final technical report summarizing technical performance for roll-over protective structure (ROPS) retrofit to the Military 6000-Pound Rough-Terrain Forklift Truck. A ROPS has been developed, which by using a two-post design and a wire mesh roof, provides minimum obstruction to operator visibility. The structural capability has been demonstrated by compliance with SAE static load testing requirements and by a field roll-over test.
