High-Field Transport Properties and Associated Electroluminescence.

Abstract

A Study of the bulk acoustoelectric effect and associated electroluminescence in II-VI compound semiconductors is summarized. Correlations were made between sample resistivity profiles and current oscillations in semiconducting CdS. The acoustoelectric aftercurrent was investigated in photoconducting CdS. A nonlinear theory was developed which predicts electron current in the presence of acoustic energy and an electric field. Bursts of electroluminescence were observed to come from domains when excess voltage pulses were superimposed on the drive voltage in CdSe samples with acoustoelectric domains. (Author)
