New Developments in Storage, Retrieval and Dissemination of Aerospace Information.
Abstract
Fourteen papers were presented during the meeting which examined the state of the art primarily in the areas of mechanization with both large and mini-computers and in reprographics. Three papers discussed the mechanization of information services in the aerospace industry with particular reference to the development of computer techniques. Three papers covered the work of two agencies in the UK concerned with research in informaton science and also considered education and training for technical information. Four papers reviewed the current state of the art of reprography and microform techniques and included a paper on remote transmission and automatic retrieval techniques. Four papers dealt with subjects ranging from the storage, access and reproduction of abstracts in microform, views on the future of automatic reading machines and a user's assessment of future requirements for the aerospace information services.
