Luminescence in Zinc Selenide with Sodium and Aluminum Doping,

Abstract

In the context of optical devices, the need for blue light emitting devices forms the basic motivation for the present study. The inherent luminescent efficiency of the II-VI compounds and their direct band gap make these materials a natural choice for this work. In the present work the author described a method of doping ZnSe with Na acceptors and Al donors. Photoluminescence data suggest that a strong blue band pair transition between Al-donors and Na-acceptors exists in ZnSe doped with these impurities.
