Test and Evaluation of an 80,000 GPD Reverse Osmosis Seawater Desalination Plant Mounted on an Ammi Pontoon.

Abstract

An 80,000 gallon per day reverse osmosis (RO) seawater desalination plant installed on an Ammi pontoon was constructed. It was tested to determine the performance and structural integrity of the plant. Based on experience with this and other desalination plants, a number of recommendations are made with regard to design of future reverse osmosis plants for military use. (Modified author abstract)
