Pollution Abatement Disposability Ratings of Packaging Materials Used Aboard United States Naval Ships. Volume I.

Abstract

To assist in the selection of more readily disposable packaging materials information concerning disposability characteristics of materials and their compatibility with shipboard capabilities (both current and projected) is presented. Criteria for rating shipboard disposability characteristics of packaging materials constrained by shipboard process capabilities to handle the materials are developed. 'Fact' sheets are compiled, establishing disposability ratings for individual categories of packaging materials. This first edition of the catalog of fact sheets is intended for distribution to cognizant personnel for comments and suggestions which can be used as guidance for preparing an updated document.
