Development of Digital Enhancement Techniques Applicable to Direct Read-Out (APT) Meteorological Satellite Images.

Abstract

Digital enhancement techniques applicable to Direct Readout (APT) Meteorological satellite images were developed, and computer routines designed and tested. Areas covered include melding of geographic grids with digital images; display of image arrays at mercator and polar stereographic projections; Fast Fourier Transform subroutine; digital filters for low frequency reduction, high frequency spatial enhancement, single frequency, and edge search and sharpen; and gray scale histograms.
