Cylindrical Antenna in a Hot Plasma: A General Analysis Including Longitudinal Wave Excitation Effects.

Abstract

The semi-infinite Fourier transform is developed and, along with suitable boundary conditions, used to obtain a general expression for the current distribution on the exterior of a cylindrical antenna immersed in a hot, isotropic plasma. The kinetic theory formulation incorporating the Vlasov equation is followed with the discontinuity in the longitudinal wave across the antenna surface included in the analysis. (Author)
