Development of the GLANC EMP Code.

Abstract

GLANC is a computer code for obtaining the solution, by finite difference methods, of Maxwell's equations in one space dimension and retarded time, for the electromagnetic fields near the ground-air interface which are produced by a nuclear burst near or on the ground. It is a versatile code with the major new innovation being the treatment of the source in a self-consistent manner by the injection of sample Compton electrons.
