High Voltage Fuel Cell Assembly.

Abstract

The concept of a high voltage, planar fuel cell element was investigated. Experimental units composed of 2, 4 and 20 single, series connected cells were built and tested for periods of greater than 100 hrs. at temperatures of 130C. Phosphoric acid contained in organic fibre matrices was the electrolyte. A design based on the performance of these units is contained in the report. Twenty-cell units were able to produce 70mA/sq cm at 12 volts. (Author)
