Preparation of Dimethylsilylene-bisbenzoxazoles

Abstract

Organic derivatives and precursors of the novel bisbenzoxazole dimethylsilanes were prepared as model compounds for projected thermally stable polymers containing this moiety. 5,5'-Dimethylsilylenebis(2-phenylbenzoxazole) and the 2-methyl analog are very thermally stable.
