The International Conference on the Strength of Metals and Alloys (3rd): The Microstructure and Design of Alloys, Cambridge, England, Held in 20-25 August 1973.

Abstract

The Third International Conference on the Strength of Metals Alloys, sponsored by the Institute of Metals, the Iron and Steel Institute, and the U.S. Army European Research Office, was held at Cambridge, England in August 1973. The topics covered in this Conference ranged over the following areas: Fundamental strengthening mechanisms, strengthening in commercial materials, interdependence of strength + ductility at low temperatures, creep strength + ductility, composites (metal matrix), particle hardening, formability + workability, fatigue, environmental influences in service, future materials design, solution hardening. This report summarizes some of the pertinent papers presented during the Conference. (Author)
