Development of High Drive, Stable Piezoelectric Ceramic.

Abstract

Lead zirconate titanate compositions with zirconia to titania ratios of 51/49 to 57/43 were studied. Lead substitutions with barium, cadmium and strontium were made plus doping with LaFeO3, NaSbO3, MnO2, Fe2O3, U2O8 and Cr2O3. Materials were prepared by hot pressing and atmosphere sintering and tested for aging, high field drive and axial stress sensitivity characteristics. Results of a pilot production run of standard ring specimens fabricated from the composition (Pb(.94)Sr(.06))(.980)(Zr(.51)Ti(.49))(.995) Cr(.015)Mn(.005)O3 are presented. (Author)
