Comparisons of Small-Sample Power for Tests of Exponentiality,

Abstract

The paper is intended to provide some results to guide applied operations research analysts in the choice of a statistical test for determining whether a set of observations can be said to come from an exponential distribution. Power comparisons are made for a total of five tests against what are deemed to be the most popular alternatives for sample sizes of 10, 20, 30, and 40, and for a number of different possible parameter values.
