Mechanics of Solid Deformable Bodies,

Abstract

The report gives an analytical survey of the contemporary state of soil mechanics and those sections of the theory of plasticity in which internal dry friction is examined. Given briefly are basic concepts about the process of the deformation of granulated media which belong to Coulomb and Reynolds and also the known achievements of the statics of friable media. A large number of proposed models of plastic deformation is analyzed in much greater detail and compared with experimental data. (Modified author abstract)
