Chemical Laser Analysis Development. Summary Volume.

Abstract

The general objectives of this effort were to improve the analytical tools available for studying chemical lasers and to apply these tools to further the understanding of chemical lasers. Four computer programs are described in the report: (1) One-Dimensional Laser and Mixing Program (ODLAMP); (2) Laser and Mixing Program (LAMP); (3) Two-Dimensional Fresnel Integral Laser and Mixing Program (TDFI-LAMP); and (4) Method-of-Characteristics Laser and Mixing Program (MOC-LAMP). Selected highlights are presented of the computer codes, analyses, results, conclusions and recommendations. The results presented include the effects of fuel/oxidizer ratios, cavity pressure, mixing, optical characteristics, mode of operation, boundary layer and an assessment of the relationship of chemical laser cavity conditions to pressure recovery methods.
