Fourier Series in the Computer Age.

Abstract

By using the Fast Fourier Transform, it becomes practical to use the classical Fourier series expansion of the solution of a Poisson equation for purposes of calculation. The paper discusses the flexibility this gives, especially if one wishes to deal with derivatives of the solution, for example if one has Neumann boundary conditions. (Modified author abstract)
