Manual Sea Water Demineralizer Development.

Abstract

The report concerns the development of a manually operated sea water demineralizer for use on U.S. Navy lifeboats and inflatable liferafts. The final configuration of the prototype system is a single-stage unit which features replaceable cartridges of helical reverse osmosis (RO) elements, and a manually operated triple-action pump. Water quality is comparable to that supplied by many municipal systems. (Modified author abstract)
