Reduced Order Modeling for Sub-Optimal Filtering.

Abstract

A procedure is developed to give a reduced order model and a set of filter gains to give an estimate of a subset of system states. A computer program is shown to perform an optimization of the reduced order model with respect to the full system. A case study is done for an F-5 lateral motion model. Four reduced order models are compared using a numerical comparison. (Author)
