Tests of New Style Magnetometers for Detection of Geomagnetic Variations.

Abstract

A cryogenic SQUID magnetometer and narrow-line rubidium magnetometer were tested against more conventional systems to determine their ability to detect natural field fluctuations. The cryogenic system was shown to be extremely sensitive and suitable for short-term detection of geomagnetic pulsations. (Author)
