Reconstruction of Past Climatic Variability
Abstract
In the first half of Year Two in the project 'Reconstruction of Past Climatic Variability,' the following have been the major accomplishments: (1) Processing of tree-ring data already collected, bringing the total number of chronologies available for climatic reconstruction to 56; (2) Collecting in eastern United States and in Alaska, including a major trip into the Mississippi drainage region which added 23 new sample sites and updated the older University of Chicago collection; (3) Compiling climatic data which will be used to calibrate tree-ring data.
