Investigation of Ionospheric Changes.

Abstract

A three-station ionosonde network in northern New Hampshire and Vermont was operated continuously, obtaining records every two minutes. The stations are mutually about 100 miles apart. Programs were written and brought to an operational state for reducing the film records of the ionograms by means of a Spiras-65 computer and Graphacon digitizing tablet. The system is now ready for the production of iso-height contours of the true height of ionization and their intercomparison among the three stations, to develop a body of statistics on travelling ionospheric disturbances.
