The Effect of Magnesium Sulfate in Combination with Tranquilizers of Cerebral Bioelectric and Cholinesterase Activity,

Abstract

Subject to inquiry was the effect produced by combinations of magnesium sulfate with chlorpromazine, amixyl (benactyzine) and diaphen on the EEG in rabbits and the acetylcholinesterase of the brain of albino rats. The cited tranquilizers were found to strengthen the narcotic action of magnesium. The same combination of substances is most potent in activating cholinesterase activity. (Author)
