Species Differences of Same-Element Atoms in the Lattice of Pure Metals and Intermetallic Compounds,

Abstract

Species differences of same-element atoms in gamma-brass type compounds and solid solutions are analyzed based on X-ray and neutron diffraction patterns. Coordination numbers, mean interatomic distances, and magnetic moments are given for the various copper and zinc atomic species. Displacement of certain metal atom species by other component species with thermal treatment is discussed.
