Abstract
The project is a continuation of a development program for flexural mode transducers and hydroacoustic technology. The project consists of three tasks: Generation of trade-off data for small vessel sonar arrays; extension of the flexural disc computer program to model bender hydrophones; and extension and upgrading of mathematical models used to simulate hydroacoustic power oscillators. The work includes the continuation of the hydrophone modeling effort to include the effects of simple hinges on the bender hydrophone performance parameters. The report describes the volume velocity harmonics generated when an alternating pressure is applied across an orifice and two design trade-off tasks which are started but not yet completed.
