The Thermal Rearrangements of Non-Ichosahedral Cobaltacarboranes.
Abstract
The thermal rearrangements which isomerize the known isomers of non-icosahedral cobaltacarboranes of the type (eta-C5H5)CoC2BnH(n+2), n = 6, 7, 8, and 10, are discussed. A summary of conclusions regarding these rearrangements is presented as a set of empirical rules which seem to govern the migration of heteroatoms during thermal isomerizations. Kinetic data of some representative rearrangements are also discussed. (Author)
