Electron Scavenging Research.

Abstract

Measurements have been made on the appearance potentials and translational energies of negative ions from a number of inorganic compounds. From these data it has been possible to deduce affinities and heats of formation of negative ions and, in some instances, free radicals. The studies have included SiCl4, P4, and chromium oxide. In a number of instances one of the fragments formed by dissociative resonance capture has been found to be electronically excited. (Modified author abstract)
