Adsorption of Oxygen and Its Effect on Cathode Reduction of Oxygen on a Nickel Electrode in an Alkaline Solution (Adsorbtsiya Kisloroda i Ee Vliyanie na Katodnoe Vosstanovlenie Kisloroda na Nikelevom Elekrode v Shchlochnom Rastvore),

Abstract

Adsorption process and cathodic reduction of oxygen on a nickel electrode is investigated. The reduction of oxygen to OH(-) can occur directly or through intermediate formation of hydrogen peroxide. The branching ratio of the oxidation reduction reaction is studied. The effect of electrolyte composition and processing of the electrode surface on the branching ratio is investigated. (Author)
