D-906 Finish Grader,
Abstract
The D-906 finish grader, consisting of a long-base machine coupled to a T-50AP tractor with a hydraulic reducing gear, is one of a sequence of road-building machines, and is used to pack bands of stabilized earth 1100 wide alongside which rail-forms are set up, eliminating the need for guide wires. Technical specifications are listed. The grader is designed on the principle of automatic regulation of the speed of the cutting member depending on the amount of resistance, by means of an automatic throttle built into the delivery line of the hydraulic reducing gear of the tractor.
