Determination of Heat Flux from Temperature Measurements at a Single Point,

Abstract

The paper presents a novel method for determining heat fluxes, knowledge of which is often useful in electrical power engineering, as well as in mechanical engineering. The present method, which is based on solution of the inverse heat conductivity problem for an unbounded plane of finite thickness, enables one to determine heat flux from temperature measurements at a single point on or near the heated surface.
