Adiabatic Surface Temperature in a Vortex Boundary Layer,

Abstract

Calculation of temperature reduction of the adiabatic surface in a supersonic, turbulent boundary layer was carried out. It was shown that the temperature reduction is a consequence of the appearance of a chain of vortices in the boundary flow. Comparison of calculated and experimental data gives qualitative agreement.
