Gas Furnace Air Pre-Heater Device for 100 Automobiles,

Abstract

The device for heating automobiles by means of natural gas consists of a gas furnace, plenum with exhaust pipe, plenum-to-ventilator air duct, two VD-11 ventilators with 20-kilowatt motors, and two main air lines with branch outlets. At an outdoor air temperature of -25 degrees or below, it takes five hours to heat the diesel motor of a 'Tatra' auto; cost of the device is 7400 rubles and break-even time is 3.6 months. The device is reliable, low-cost, and simple enough in construction to be built at an auto-transport plant.
