Dielectric Membrane Storage Display Tube.

Abstract

The report details a study of the resolution of a dielectric membrane display device. The areas of study included the analysis and selection of a deformable dielectric membrane, incorporation of this membrane into a sealed cathode ray tube, selection and modification of the writing electron gun, and subsequent testing of the complete display device to determine its resolution characteristics. The study results show that the resolution of the device could be increased from 280 to 440 lines per inch, by proper selection of the writing electron gun and the dielectric membrane. (Author)
