Sampling Methodology and Analytical Procedures for Ambient Sulfur Hexafluoride.

Abstract

An evaluation of sampling techniques and gas chromatographic analysis for low levels of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) was conducted to verify that laboratory procedures were sufficiently sensitive for use of SF6 in optimizing the location and use of air quality sampling stations of air monitoring networks. A Tracor-550 gas chromatograph was used; it was equipped with a nickel(63) electron capture detector, and pulsed mode as well as d.c. polarized voltage capabilities. Sampler and container materials are discussed. (Modified author abstract)
