Receiver Canonic Models.

Abstract

The zonal form of the nonlinear response to modulated inputs is determined. It is shown by combinatorial arguments that modelling should be restricted to third-order Volterra systems for manageable complexity. The theoretical basis of canonic modelling and weaknesses of earlier models are explored. Criteria for useful models are established which define four specific models for further studies. It is then determined that direct measurement of the transfer function at selected points is the most favorable measurement technique from which model parameters can be determined. (Author)
