An Analysis of the Effect of Replacing Individual Tool Kits with Composite Tool Kits.

Abstract

The thesis analyzes the effect of replacing individual tool kits with composite tool kits. Specifically addressed is the effect of the CTK on tool inventory, the cost of tool control, and tool caused Foreign Object Damage (FOD). the acceptability of the CTK, and what correlated benefits and liabilities can be expected from the implementation of the CTK concept. The populations sampled were those USAF maintenance activities that have implemented the CTK and similar USAF maintenance activities using the individual tool kit.
