Set-Up for Calibrating Airborne Instruments and Laboratory Simulation of Flow around Models by Diluted Plasma,

Abstract

The problem of studying the ionosphere with the aid ISZ (artificial earth satellites) led to the need for the creation of set-ups to simulate the characteristic conditions of outer space, in particular, set-ups for the laboratory simulation of ISZ movement in ionospheric plasma. The article describes a set-up intended both for the laboratory calibration of airborne instruments used during study of the upper ionosphere and for studying the flow around small-scale models of ISZ by diluted ionized gas.
