A Cathode Ray Tube Display System for a Minuteman I Computer.

Abstract

Since the Electrical Engineering department of the Air Force Institute of Technology acquired two of the Air Force's surplus D17B Minuteman I computers June of 1971, considerable effort has been expended toward converting these into a general purpose laboratory computer system. This report describes the considerations which must be evaluated in designing a computer display system. Many of the different types of commercial display systems and how they operate are discussed. The design of an alphanumeric cathode ray tube display system and the reasoning followed during this design effort is presented in this thesis. The logic schematics and the components required for constructing and interfacing this alphanumeric display system with the D17B computer system are included as a part of this project. (Author)
